Sometimes. Printers are not your friend. How the hell does purple become brown printer?

My next assignment is to design a book cover of a book I’ve already read and know well. Naturally I’m choosing Harry Potter. Deathly Hallows to be specific.

I mean, come on.

Wicked was my second choice.

I need a portfolio and Graphic Design experience right about … NOW! I guess that means I need a new job that actually has something to do with where I want to go in the future.

I don’t know the first thing about making a good portfolio.

Behance or Carbonmade? Free versions or monthly bills? Decisions decisions.

My next project is to create a propaganda poster.

We had to choose a subject we actually cared about so I chose the subject of blood diamonds, with a poster urging for the purchase of conflict free diamonds.

This subject gets to me because it hits pretty close to home. My parents immigrated from Sierra Leone so it is one of my cultures and my descent. It was one of the countries hit hardest by this conflict, so my family was affected as well during that decade long war.

It’s probably going to be a really dark poster because the thought of it makes me feel dark inside, and I want to get the message across of just how serious it was and still is… no sugar coating…
